JLG Telehandler

Following retirement in the late 1960's, John L. Grove started on a cross country RV voyage. After spending many years establishing his family built crane business with his brother, John had no idea that this trip would bring forth the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling equipment was the end consequence of a road trip.

All through their journey, John reacquainted himself with past business associates along the way. In combination with these conversations and a significant event; two workers had been tragically electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were passing through the Hoover Dam. John uncovered a substantial marketplace for a product that could swiftly and safely elevate individuals in the air to accomplish upkeep and other building functions.

Following their return from holiday, John set up a joint venture with two of his friends and obtained a metal fabricating business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Starting with a small crew of twenty workers, they fashioned and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The business incorporates some of the simple design elements of that original lift into current designs.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove came back from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the marketplace. As of today, the business has extended itself into quite a few global markets and continues to cultivate innovative machines to ensure that consumers are able to become safer and more resourceful within their workplace.
